1. Who we are

Be My PDF (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated from Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. You can reach us at connect.cosmodex@gmail.com for any privacy question, data request, or complaint. We act as the data controller for the limited personal data described below.

2. Files you upload to our tools

Every conversion, merge, split, compress, OCR, sign, watermark, and edit tool on this site runs entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly and the standard File API. Your document is loaded into memory on your own device, processed locally, and the result is offered back to you as a download. We do not upload your files to our servers, we do not store copies, and no one at Be My PDF can read them.

The one exception is when you explicitly opt in to a cloud feature (for example, sharing a signed document by link). If we ever introduce such a feature, we will describe the data flow at the point where you enable it and give you a clear opt out.

3. Information we do collect

Basic request data — every website sees your IP address, browser user-agent, and the pages you visit. Our hosting provider (Vercel) records this in standard access logs for security and abuse prevention. Logs are retained for up to 30 days.
Product analytics — we use Google Analytics 4 (measurement IDs G-TEDKEX6E6C and GT-5NR79VG4) to understand which tools are popular, spot bugs, and measure Core Web Vitals. Analytics events include the page path, referrer, anonymized geography, device type, and event names such as tool_start or file_download. IP addresses are truncated by Google before storage.
Account data (optional) — if you create an account through our authentication page, we store your email address and hashed password with our backend provider (Supabase). We only ever ask for an account when a specific feature requires one; the core tools are usable without signing in.
Contact messages — when you email connect.cosmodex@gmail.com, we keep your message and reply in our inbox so we can follow up. We do not add you to any marketing list.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of first-party cookies for essential functionality (remembering that you dismissed a banner, keeping you signed in if you have an account) and third-party cookies for analytics and advertising. The advertising cookies are set by Google AdSense (see next section). You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time; the tools will keep working without them.

5. Advertising — Google AdSense

Some pages on Be My PDF display advertisements served by Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-8841633365335879). Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. This is called personalized advertising, and it is disclosed here to comply with Google Publisher Policies.

6. Legal bases (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our lawful bases are: performance of a contract (delivering the tool you asked for), our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and measuring usage, and your consent for advertising and non-essential analytics cookies where local law requires it.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you, to object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, email connect.cosmodex@gmail.com from the address associated with your account and we will respond within 30 days.

8. Data retention

Uploaded files are discarded from browser memory as soon as you close the tab. Server access logs are kept for 30 days. Analytics data is retained for 14 months. Account records are kept for as long as your account is active; if you delete your account we remove the record within 30 days, except where longer retention is required by law.

9. Children

Be My PDF is a general-audience productivity tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. International transfers

Our servers and sub-processors (Vercel, Google, Supabase) are located in the United States and the European Union. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards approved under GDPR.

11. Changes to this policy

When we materially change how we handle data, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, for account holders, send an email notice. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
