Terms of Service

1. The Service

Be My PDF provides free, in-browser tools for working with PDF, Word, image, and spreadsheet files — merging, splitting, converting, compressing, editing, signing, watermarking, unlocking, and OCR. Most tools run entirely on your device; a few optional features rely on our hosted backend or on third-party APIs, which will be clearly labelled at the point of use.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Be My PDF to:

• process content that is illegal, infringes intellectual property rights, or that you do not have the right to modify;
• circumvent digital rights management, including removing watermarks or passwords from documents you do not own or are not authorized to unlock;
• attack, overload, reverse engineer, or interfere with the Service or with other users of the Service;
• resell, sublicense, or wrap the free tools as a paid product without a written commercial agreement with us.

3. Your content

You retain all rights in the files you process with Be My PDF. Because processing happens locally in your browser, we never take ownership of, or a licence over, your documents. If you use an optional cloud feature that requires uploading a file, we hold it only for as long as needed to perform the requested operation and then delete it.

4. Accounts

You may use most tools without an account. If you create one, you are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under it. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Pricing and free tier

The core PDF tools listed on the home page are free to use for personal and commercial purposes, subject to fair use limits designed to prevent abuse. Enterprise features, higher volumes, and priority support are available under a separate commercial agreement — contact us at connect.cosmodex@gmail.com.

6. Intellectual property

The Be My PDF brand, logo, design system, source layout, written content, and documentation are our intellectual property. We grant you a limited, revocable licence to view and interact with the Service for its intended purpose. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

7. Third-party services

Be My PDF integrates with third-party services (Google Analytics, Google AdSense, Supabase for optional accounts, Vercel for hosting). Your use of the Service is also subject to the terms and privacy policies of those providers.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific file will convert perfectly.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Be My PDF and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for any claim will not exceed one hundred US dollars (USD 100).

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Be My PDF from any claim, damage, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or your violation of these terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access without notice if we believe you have breached these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka, unless local consumer-protection law grants you the right to sue in your home jurisdiction.

13. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the revised terms.
